The Youth Eco Summit – YES is a unique, curriculum-based sustainability event for school students and their teachers. The program promotes student leadership and showcases sustainability achievements and practices in both primary and secondary schools. It is an initiative between NSW DEC, University of Western Sydney (UWS) and Sydney Olympic Park (SOPA). Participants choose from 1 of 2 action packed days.
YES showcases sustainability in many forms including Business Innovation, Skills for the 21st Century, Agriculture, Social Inclusion & Equity, Strengthening Communities, Health and Well- being, Arts & Culture, Environment, Resource Management, Media & Communications and Advocacy.
The Youth Eco Summit combines onsite events with live interactive video conferencing and web streaming so students can connect with this sustainability event from anywhere. Distance is not an obstacle for you to be part of this award winning event.
If you don’t have video conferencing facilities you can still interact in real time with student journalists on the ground at YES before, during and after the video conference to ask questions via live chat as we stream via Youtube. Tell them what to zoom in on, who to talk to, what you want to know, where you want them to go!
