Description: All great stories lead back to us….
With its extensive collection of over five million items, the internationally renowned State Library of NSW aims to collect, preserve and make accessible the documentary heritage of NSW. The State Library is a powerful storyteller, revealing the treasures that speak to the history of our state and nation. The Library is committed to connecting our unique resources and collections with teachers and students across Australia and the globe, through a range of programs which inspire engagement, creativity and intellectual growth.
Our virtual excursions have ranged from British Colonisation and the First Fleet to poetry workshops with leading authors and educators, from clay sculpting inspired by portraits from the goldfields to HSC research using the library’s online databases, and anything in between! All school virtual excursions link back to our magnificent collections, and to the curriculum. We also offer professional learning sessions for teachers, to encourage them to utilize the extensive online resources that are available on the State Library of NSW website.
The State Library continues to surprise, and awaits further discovery. We look forward to welcoming you to the State Library of NSW through a virtual excursion, and exploring some of our treasures with you and your students.
